Today, Mayor Scott Fadness announced Jason Taylor will succeed Jeff Hill, who announced his departure from the City of Fishers in March after nearly seven years as engineering director. Taylor is a former assistant director of engineering at the City of Fishers and most recently held the Technical Services Director position at Indiana Department of Transportation’s (INDOT) Greenfield District. In his role, he oversaw INDOT’s asset management for the state’s largest district in terms of traffic, including 15 counties which included Marion County and Hamilton County. He and his team coordinated with local stakeholders, such as Fishers, on projects that impacted the local commuters and economic development efforts.

“Jeff Hill has built a great engineering department that has reduced traffic congestion in Fishers, increased our state and federal funding, and improved our city’s infrastructure during his time here,” said Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness. “I have no doubt that under Jason’s leadership, these efforts will not be in vain. I look forward to having Jason back on the team as we continue to reinvest in our infrastructure to grow the quality of life here in Fishers.”

Taylor brings with him a wealth of knowledge about the City’s largest project to date: the State Road 37 improvement project, which kicks off this year in partnership with Hamilton County and INDOT. During his time at INDOT, Taylor was heavily involved in the State Road 37 project as well as the development of $150 million of interstate improvement projects within the Indy metro.

“I’m humbled and excited to come back to the City of Fishers and be a part of the next chapter of our growing community,” said Taylor. “Under Jeff’s leadership, the team has made great strides in bringing Fishers’ infrastructure up meet the demand. With that foundation in place, I’m looking forward to building proactive and innovative infrastructure that will serve this community for generations to come.”

Jason Taylor is a graduate from Purdue University with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and is a certified Professional Engineer in both Indiana and Ohio.

Jason, his wife Carri, and children, Dean and Linley, reside in Fishers and enjoy spending time with family and friends both in his hometown in southern Indiana and here locally in central Indiana. They like to take frequent trips to West Lafayette, St. Louis, and Green Bay to support their favorite teams: Boilermakers, Cardinals and Packers.
