FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 12, 2023
Fishers, (Indiana): The Fishers Police Department has arrested a 40 y/o Fishers man on a warrant for Resisting Law enforcement and False Informing following an investigation into a road rage incident in the 8300 block of E. 96th Street.
On April 21st, 2023, at approximately 3:00 p.m., The Fishers Police Department responded to a physical altercation at the Wal-Mart on E. 96th Street after a witness called 911. An Officer arrived and was directed to the area of the parking lot with the subjects involved. The officer contacted a male who reported that the other person involved had a gun and was leaving the scene in a white Cadillac Escalade. The officer told the subject to stay in the parking lot and went to stop the other involved person. A traffic stop was conducted on the other vehicle and a high-risk traffic stop was conducted once other officers arrived. No weapon was located. The driver of the Cadillac stated he had been involved in a confrontation stemming from a road rage incident with the other person that lasted twenty minutes prior to the police arrival.
When officers attempted to speak with the other subject in the parking lot, he had left the area. Video obtained as part of the investigation revealed the subject fled the parking lot immediately after being told to stay by the officer. Further investigation was conducted in the following days and using Flock license plate reader technology investigators were able to identify the vehicle being driven by the subject in the parking lot. He was identified as Dustin J. Martin. The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office reviewed the case, and an arrest warrant was issued.
On May 7th Dustin J. Martin was arrested on the warrant. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
